Examining the Authenticity of Asbab al-Nuzul (Occasions and Circumstances of the Revelation) and the Context in Exegesis

The context of the Quran verses if it is proved the cohesion in the revelation and thematic coherence of them is of the valid evidences of the verses which should be considered in the perception of the verses’ appearances. Asbab al-Nuzul (Occasions and Circumstances of the Revelation) if it has the stipulation of documentary and content authenticity is of the evidences of the understanding of the verses that it is necessary to be regarded in the exegesis of the verses, too. These two have harmony and agreement in the exegesis of some Quran verses and disagreement in other verses. After stating some conditions of the authenticity of the context and Asbab al-Nuzul (Occasions and Circumstances of the Revelation) and presenting some examples of their harmony, this paper is going to study the cases which have disagreement between them and express the reason of the priority one over the other with regarding the valid criterion of them.
