The role of spiritual well-being and Religious Adherence in predicting marital satisfaction among nurses

One of factors associated with nurses’ mental health and their job stress is marital satisfaction. This study was aimed to determine the role of spiritual well-being and religion adheres in predicting marital satisfaction among nurses. In this descriptive- analytic study, 176 nurses employed in Ardabil University were selected by multistage cluster sampling in 2014. Data were collected using spiritual well-being, religious adherence and marital satisfaction questionnaires based on Islamic scales. Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regressions tests. The results showed that spiritual well-being and religious adherence have a significant positive relationship with marital satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis showed that 32.3% of marital satisfaction is explained by spiritual well-being and Religious Adherence (P <0.001). The findings suggest that adherence to religion and spirituality led to an increase in marital satisfaction. So, it can be avoided of conflicts, marital dissatisfaction and its negative effects on the marital life with the help of spirituality and Islamic life style and is provided more satisfaction in the marital life.
