The Viewpoints of Mentors of Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults about Critical Thinking Elements in Fictions

This research tries to find out the extent to which critical thinking elements are seen in children and young adult's fictions regarding the mentor's viewpoints of Intellectual Development of Children and Young Adults (IIDCYA). This is a survey study. The population consists of 8 fictions. A checklist is used by 48 mentors of IIDCYA in Khuzestan to identify critical thinking elements in the books. According to the mentor's viewpoints, the critical thinking elements are not the same in the books. Children literature is not only aimed to amuse but also has pedagogical purposes. Training thinking skills must be also considered in children books.
