Comparing Drug Dependents and Non-drug Dependent's Lifestyles

Abstract:
Introduction
drug dependence is considered one of the major problems in families and communities. According to The cognitive view, experiences determine how to behave. Due to their importance in interpretation of special situations, life styles have a significant role in cognitive theories. The aim of this study was to compare life styles in drug dependences and normal population to recognize their role in drug dependence.
Methods
The method of this research was post-facto and sectional styles. The population was 100 drug dependent adults and 100 non drug dependents who were selected by atreach methods. To examine the lifestyles, Basic Adlerian scales for interpersonal success-adult form (BASIS-A) questionnaires were used. Data analysis was performed using T-test and Logistic regression.
Results
there were significant differences between life styles in the two groups of drug dependence and non-drug dependence men.
Conclusion
findings showed that life styles in drug dependence people are maladaptive. So, drug dependence institutions and therapists have to pay attention to cognitive factors for drug dependence prevention.
