The Relationship between Individual's Perceptions of Job Richness and Physical and Psychological Stress in Police Service Agencies in Governmental

Background and obgective: the effects of stress on job performance are significantly important, particularly on special jobs that are related to maintaining security and order. Stress management can provide the improvement in the performance of employees in these jobs. Thus, this research studies the relationship between individual perceptions of job richness and physical and mental pressure of stress among the security staffs of a governmental agency. this study is of an applied research type which has been conducted in correlational method. The statistical population consists of the 110 security guards of tax organization. 86 members were selected as the sample of the study. The required data were analyzed using the correlation, and linear regression. Findings and the results of the study confirmed the diverse relationship between individuals’ perception of job richness and psychological and physical pressures of stress. However, the intensity of negative relationship between psychological pressure and individuals’ perception from job richness was more than that of the relationship between physical pressure and individuals’ perception from job richness. Among the characteristics of job richness, the three traits of communication with customer, freedom in planning and controlling resources have significant relationship with psychological pressure of stress.
