oblique subject alternations in persian

In recent years, many researchers in the field of Lexical Semantics and Natural Language Processing studies, have been interested in the study of syntactic-semantic behavior of verbs. Filmore was the first to try to show the semantic representation of verbs and classify them. He in his work, used the Case Grammar and Semantic Roles concepts. Afterwards a number of researchers have attempted to classify verbs by using the alternations of the verbs. They believed that certain semantic features of verbs cause verbs to show certain alternations. In other words, those verbs that have the same semantic components, will show the same syntactic behavior (or same alternations) too. The first classification of this sort, is Beth Levin(1993) 's study of English verbs which identified 79 argument alternations and 49 board semantic categories. This research aims to study the Oblique Subject Alternations in Persian according to Levin 's classification.
