Psychological effects of domestic violence on women

Abstract:
Violence against women is among the major problems in families. Researcher shows that women on the partner abuse suffer heavily from psychological disorders. The present study is to elaborate on the psychological effects of domestic violence on women. Women referred to the counseling center of police and family courts constituted the statistical sample of the study. The sample was studied based on DSM-IV-TR. The findings demonstrated that the psychological disorders among the women who were under the partner abuse were: sexual desire (31.3%), inclusive anxiety (27.8%), chronic depression (23.5%), panic attack (20.9%), obsessive disorders (15.9%), and social anxiety (14.8%).
