The Role of Media (the Press) in Dealing with Economic Crimes

The present study was mainly inspired by certain factors such as economic crimes, embezzlements, newly developed crimes and lack of effective informatics, etc. This is an applied descriptive study of the content analysis type.All the contents published in 2011 in Keihan,Arman, and it DonyayeEghtesad newspapers formed the contents to be analyzed. 443 cases related to economic crimes were collected. The findings of the study showed that there is a significant relationship between the viewpoints of media and that of actual economic contents. The findings also showed that there is a significant relationship between the contents related to economic crimes and their roles.In this fashion,Keihan had the highest frequency in forming the beliefs and Arman had the highest frequency in news transmitting and DonyayeEghtesad had the highest frequency in supervision.Hence it can be concluded that the press aimed at playing a kind of role in dealing with economic crimes.
