The Effect of Criminal Contents Published in The Mass Media on the Sense of Public Security

Mass media play a dual role in issue of crime or crime prevention. contents published ine the mass media can either create a sense of security, trust and assurance or a sense of fear,anxiety and uncertainty. the present study tries to investigate the effect of the published criminal contents on the peoples sense of security. people obove 15 living in kermansah formed the statistical population of the study.384of them were randomely selected to form the statistical sample.questionnaire was used to collect the required data.the most important motive behind following the criminal news is getting informed of the society. In general, publishing the criminal news is more an opportannity then threat.
