The Interaction between Crime and Development
Nowadays crime and violence control has a significant effect to achieve the developmental goals and policies, and in international instruments, the importance of interaction between crime and development is considered as an essential element in designing the developmental programs and criminal policies. On the one hand, weakening the features of social and human capitals, economy and business, as well as the popular sovereign, crime impedes process of sustainable development. On the other hand, the correlation between developmental standards, including economic ones, and criminal statistics indicates the interaction between crime and development as two main variables. As understanding, this relation in decade of development and justice in Iran has a particular importance, the present article explores effects of crime on developmental standards and effects of developmental standards on crime, and concludes that the interaction between these variables should be considered in developing countries particularly in Iran.
