Abstract:
As a conscious being, human is not more aware of any other affair than of themself. Awareness of objects for a human is subordinate to awareness of themself. In this self-awareness, human is constantly thinking about themself and the possibility of forgetting themself is unimaginable. However, one of the verses of the Quran points out self-oblivion of human beings. The cause of this self-oblivion is forgetting something else; when a human forgets Allah, they fall into self-oblivion. In expounding on this teaching, philosophers on one hand, and interpreters on the other have conducted some studies. This paper draws on the explanations provided by MullaSadra and AllamehTabataba’iwho are endowed with the knowledge of philosophy and interpretation. Besides, there has been an attempt to establish a relationship between self-oblivion as free will, and misdeed; a relationship which results from consigning Allah, who is associated with the source and extremity every good and pure deed, to oblivion.
