Compilation a commercialization model for Iran meteorology services and products with benchmarking of Australia, New Zealand and the USA meteorology agencies

Abstract:
Commercialization in governmental organizations in Iran is a controversial and challenging issue. This challenge is high when the services and products of organizations are knowledge and wisdom. Determining positions and values of these products by using market’s mechanism is an important option and method for their survival and development.In order to overcome the shortage of financial resources and in order to prevent the collapse of knowledge, to encourage innovation and creativity, to improve weather forecast and to meet the diverse needs of applicants, the issue of commercialization in the country's Meteorological Agency which is a non-commercial, service providing organization and producer of knowledge products which has great influence over the security and health of the society with the extensive international interactions and facing with various demands and opportunities of climate changes caused by the environment, were investigated by studying the experiences of 3 selected meteorological agencies to enable to extract and design a model for this reason, while to study the feasibility of commercialization of meteorological services in Iran.
