Analysis of Factors Affecting QA of Educational Administration by Using Shannon's Entropy Technique

Access to the most basic standards of quality in higher education are the basic is one of the requirements for the administration of each of the approaches to improve quality assurance in higher education and the academic disciplines. The present study aimed to identify the factors, criteria and indicators affecting quality assurance of educational administration and determining and their priorities. The method was qualitative and the instruments were interviews and investigating documents. The findings on interviews and documents were analyzed using content analysis technique of categorization and Shannon Entropy technique, respectively. The semi-structured interview administered on 11 experts on quality assurance and faculty members of educational sciences in public universities of Tehran. In order to have a comprehensive identification of factors, criteria and indicators, 37 study units on evaluation and quality assurance of academic programs were considered. The results showed that “students”, “faculty members”, “educational facilities”, “organizational status, organization and management”, “teaching-learning process”, “programs”, and “graduates” are key factors in quality assurance of educational administration. Furthermore, the results showed that the factor namely, organizational status, organization and management having information load of 0.51and the significant coefficient of 0.17, had the highest priority among the factors. Criterion namely, “experience exchange” belonged to the factor of faculty members having information load of 0.688 and significant coefficient of 0.17, had the highest priority among all the criteria and the indicator of “the number of articles published in scientific journals” belonged to the same factor having information load of 0.800 and significant coefficient of 0.045, had the highest priority among all the indicators.
