An Investigation of Managerial Status of Fitness Clubs in Kurdistan Province

The aim of this study was to investigate managerial status of fitness clubs in Kurdistan province. The research method was descriptive and field regarding data collection. The statistical population consisted of all managers and clients of fitness clubs of Kurdistan province (40 managers and 160 clients of fitness clubs). The sampling method was random-cluster and the sample was determined by Morgan Table. The questionnaire used in the study was inspired by Mantya, Skndiz and Solaimani. The content validity of this questionnaire was confirmed by sport management experts and the reliability was determined by Cronbach’s alpha as 0.85. Descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage, mean, variance and standard deviation) were used to describe data through SPSS18 software. In order to check the normality of the data, Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used and to examine the hypotheses, Pearson, Friedman and Mann-Whitney U tests were applied. The results indicated a significant difference in ranking the criteria of a premier fitness club from manager's point of view (P˂0.000). The analysis also showed that competencies and requirements of employees were the most important criteria in a premier fitness club from the manager's viewpoints.
