Influence of ozone-sonolysis reactor diameter and liquid height on phenol degradation under 24 kHz sonication

Abstract:
In this study, the effect of height and diameter of O3/US system reactor (with sonolysis power of 24 kHz) were investigated for the degradation of phenol. The research work was carried out using ozone, US and combined O3/US. The rate and removal time of phenol deterioration were studied regarding the variations in height and diameter of reactor. The decreasing concentration of samples due to the technique applied, were recorded spectrophotometrically. The optimal conditions were obtained in any of above mentioned methods. The results indicate the fact that variation on height and diameter of reactor of O3/US has a direct impact on extend and rate of degradation of trace concentrations of phenol.
