Adsorption study of chromium onto salicylic acid modified alumina nano-fiber
Author(s):
Abstract:
The removal of chromium heavy metal from industrial effluents, especially from tannery industry, has become a subject of keen interest. This study deals with the removal of chromium from the tannery wastewater by using a modified nano-fiber of Al2O3 as an adsorbent. Modification of nanofiber of Al2O3 was done by salicylic acid. FT-IR confirmed the modified Al2O3.From the experimental results it was shown that the adsorption of chromium onto modified nano-fiber of Al2O3, was best fitted with pseudo-first kinetics.
