Identifying Factors Affecting the Successful Transfer of Nanotechnology

For successful technology transfer, it is needed to identify Industry needs, required technologies, technological resources, transfer methods and its factors. The purpose of this study was to examine factors affecting the successful transfer of nanotechnology as a concern to make progress on the development of Iran. The exploratory mixed method study was used. The statistical samples of the qualitative phase were academic and industrial experts in nanotechnology industry, the samples were selected with purposeful sampling until theoretical saturation stage. The samples in quantitative study were 83 experts which selected by simple random sampling. A semi-structured interview were used in qualitative study and a questionnaire used for quantitative study. Data collected were analyzed by using of SPSS 18 software. The results showed that the effective components included knowledge, organizational, technological, communications, training human resources and understanding of the physical environment. These factors in the receiver and provider organization have a different significance. Priority components in the receiver was technological, organizational, knowledge, communication, manpower training and understanding of the physical environment issues and in the provider organization was technological, organizational, communication, knowledge and understanding of the physical environment and the training of manpower issue.
