Wisdom in the Poems of Imam al-Husayn

Imam al-Husayn was the most eloquent personality of his time; he inherited it from his father, Imam Ali, who revolted against tyranny with his sword and enlightened people with his pen and eloquence.
There are several poems that are ascribed to Imam al-Husayn. Such poems are replete with social, political, moral, and religious teachings. In them, he utilized a poetical language to express notions of forbearance, reliance on Allah, revolt against tyranny, forgiveness, defending the rightful camp, and so forth. Certainly applying such notions touched upon in the poems ascribed to Imam al-Husayn brings about felicity both in this world and in the Hereafter.
