Study and analysis of development disparities in Lorestan province

High concentration and imbalance in the geographical areas are noticeable characteristics of third world countries which is the result of polarized development policies. As a result of this policy
, Limited number of areas play a key role while other marginal areas have unimportant functions. In order to establish balance and organize homogenic and appropriate spaces, the issue of regional planning has been discussed. The first step in regional planning is the recognition of socio-economic and cultural misbalances between different areas. Establishment of balance and homogeneity in all urban systems and structures between the cities of Lorestan is one of the obvious aim of this study. We have studied 15 different variables in the form of 4 indicators (health, agriculture, education, population and activity) among 9 cities by using misbalanced Morris indicator to evaluat each city and determined the level of its development in comparison with the development of whole province. Results after ranking the cities based on Lack of coordinated distribution facilities and services, show that Khoram-Abad and Borujerd have the first place among other counties respecting prosperity of all facilities and services; and Poldokhtar and kohdasht are placed in the last place. Environmental facilities, proximity, developmental issues, industrial restricts play an important role in the province's prosperity levels in province's counties.
