Comparing personality characteristics of Tehran delinquent teenagers with non delinquent teenagers

Abstract:
The purpose of the present research is comparing personality characteristics of Tehran delinquent teenagers with non delinquent teenagers. For this purpose, we selected 100 people, 50 of these were selected with a method of available sampling from the Tehran delinquent society that they were in the correctional insitutation, the other 50 people were selected by simple accidental sampling from the Tehran nondelinquents that they were in the high school. The tools for the study included NEO- FFI personality questionaire which after doing it on both groups, the t independent parametric statistics method was used to approve or disapprove the hypotheses. The finding of the research shows that : There are significant differences between delinquent and nondelinquent in Neuroticism, flexibility agreeableness, Conscientiousness, but there isnt significant difference between delinquent and non delinquent in extroversion and from five hypotheses, four of them have been proved. The results shows that the delinquent youths are suffering more from neuroticism than non- delinquent, but they are less open minded, agreeable and conscientious than the non delinquent.
