The study effect of education on technical information and performance of water inspectors in water disinfection of rural area of Abarkouh

Iranian rural environments have various structures because of the ecological distinctive features. The scattered of villages, in terms of geographical non-homogeneous distribution and distance of residential units are made difficult the supply, distribution and monitoring of water quality in rural areas. So use of expert staff with sufficient knowledge for water quality monitoring can control many challenges which cause reduces the quality of water. To study the effect of education on technical information and performance of water inspectors of Abarkouh, all of water inspectors (16 persons) were studied. The Knowledge of water inspector was measured with using of a self-made questionnaire and their performance was also determined as a ratio or percentage of examination which chlorine was reported favourably by water inspectors. After entering the data to the SPSS22 software, used of ANOVA and paired t-test to analyse the data. The age of water inspectors was 28 to 49 years old, with a mean age 37 (±7) years old. The mean score knowledge of water inspectors before training was 7.5 about the importance and using the chlorination and after training has increased to 11.56 which is statistically significant. Water inspector’s performance also improved 5% after training and this rate is also significant, but education is not effect on different levels of academic performance and age. Based on the positive results of intervention, if the project done as a continuous intervention in all health centers it can be effective in the improving of rural water quality.
