The Study of scientific quality at ended action research reports of primary school Teacheres

Abstract: the present study investigated the scientific nature of action research reports provided by teacher researchers. This study was conducted within a qualitative-quantitative approach through descriptive as well as analytic methods. The statistical population included all the primary school teachers in Sanandaj who had conducted action research at least for one time. The corpus included all the action research reports sent to central secretariat for the 12th and 13th courses of action research program in Kordestan (36 reports). In the quantitative phase the convenience sampling and in the qualitative phase the purposive sampling was used as the sampling methods. Questionnaires, checklists, and semi-structured interviews were used for the purpose of gathering data. The reliability of instrument was checked by Cronbach's alpha which estimated .89 for questionnaire and .77 for checklist. The results showed that teachers have positive viewpoints toward action research for identifying and finding solutions for educational issues. The analysis of the reports revealed a poor scientific basis in teacher's reports. They did not employ effective methods for data collection and analysis and the instruments had poor reliability and validity.
