Evaluate the performance of the local guards in the prevention of theft in Tehran's district

One of the ways to evaluate the performance of local guards is its effect on reduce the rate of crime; this research was conducted to determine the effect of local guards in the prevention of theft in Tehran's district.
The present study is an applied research and was conducted by descriptive – analytical method. In conduct the research has been used the survey and documentary methods. The data in the literature were used from notes and official police.
Findings: The results of study was confirmed the significant relationship between the theft rate and the Existence of local guards in district with local guards than all district without local guards. In other words it can be said that the local guards has been effective in preventing theft.
Discussions and The results further is show that local guards effective in preventing motorcycle theft, car theft and theft from auto parts and public places. This indicates that the local guards have been able to gain the trust of citizens largely in these districts.
