Abstract:
This article aims at surveying the problem of woman, s imamate in congregational prayer. Despite the large population of women in the society and their serious presence in various educational, cultural and research centers, this problem has been less dealt by the researchers, being downgraded to a question and answer sometimes. In this writing, using juristic sources, I am going to clarify the importance of this problem and its effects as well as the viewpoins of Islamic denominations and their reasons so as to make it clear that whether women are allowed to hold congregational prayer independently. In this writing the conflicting views of scholars of Islamic denominations are surveyed. At the end, this view is confirmed that a woman,s imitation of another woman, having the required qualifications, is allowed and even preferable to pray singly.
