Intuitional mysticism and theoretical mysticism in the intellectual school of Ayatollah Javadi Amoli

Author(s):
Abstract:
Ayatollah Javadi Amoli refers quiddity to concept by analyzing how to related firmly effect to cause, following his teacher, Allame Tabatabai. So, he considers the externality of quiddity in the shadow of existence, in Mulla Sadra's opinion, as teaching introductory words. Therefore, the externality is just existence located in the locus of intuition by presential direct knowledge. This intuitional mystical knowledge is to pass knowledge and to receive the object of knowledge in itself or the mystical intuition of separated worlds [from consciousness]. But the mystic should argue in the world of concepts and indirect knowledge for explaining his arguments. There is no choice to apply logic for analyzing these concepts and considers them as indirect data by putting direct knowledge into bracket of psychological certainty. But the treatment of logic with mysticism is not to work with some concepts of theoretical mysticism separated from intuitional one in order to refer theoretical concepts to self-evident ones (logical method) but both concepts can be protected from impurity of mind, when they are connected to the pure externality as well as to refer connected findings to separated facts. This article tries to analyze the differences of these mystical ways as well as the possibility of linking them.
