Abstract:
One of the complex narratives in Shia references is the narrative of Ibrahim ibn Omar from Imam Sadiq about Hidden Name (al-Ism al-Maknun) of God and its relation to Most Beautiful Names (al-Asma al-Husna). The content of this narrative has several aspects; so it makes different viewpoints about its concept. In this article, different viewpoints about the concept of Name in this narrative will be studied and it will be specified that here the Name is not verbal but objective and has an external reality. Then the viewpoints of who report the Hadiths and philosophers about the extensions of Evident Name (al-Ism al-Zaher) will be studied. Then it will be proved that the Evident Names are Allah, Tabarak and Ta`ala. Finally, the concept of Hidden Name in the narrative will be studied and after analyzing the viewpoints of who report the Hadiths and philosophers, we will conclude that the purpose of Hidden Name is the stage of unity (Ahadiat) which is covered by Evident Names.
