General Gharah Baghi's Approach to Army's Neutrality in 1979 Revolution

The main focus of this paper is to study the reasons for Army’s neutrality in the last day of Pahlavi Regime announced by General Gharah Baghi. The findings of this paper show that his reasonable stances towards the important events in the course of the Revolution was the main reason for Army’s neutrality. These approaches included holding open session trials for the leaders of the Freedom Movement of Iran, criticizing General Oveysi because of committing the September 8 massacre, and establishing ties and negotiating with the revolutionaries for decreasing the tensions in the country.
