Predicting hope based on religious orientation and time perspective

Aim: Aim of this study was to determine the predictors of hope, so based on theories and previous studies, assumed religious orientation and time perspective as predictors.
This is a correlational study, and the statistical population was nearly all 28000 students of Islamic Azad University, Karaj branch. Allport religious orientation scale, 1963; Zimbardo time perspective inventory, 1999; and Snyder adult hope scale, 1991, were given to 600 students of 10 colleges, using accessible sampling. 434 questionnaires were returned; excluding 22 tampered questionnaires, the data of 412 students were analyzed using hierarchical multiple regression.
Data analysis demonstrated that Intrinsic religious orientation (p It is proved that intrinsic religious orientation and ideal time perspective are predicators of hope, therefore, it is recommended to hold psychological workshops in university for continuous practical taught to reinforce student's intrinsic religious orientation and ideal time perspective.
