Ayatollah JavadiAmoli on the nature of human in Qurʾān (interpretation of the verse of fetrat)

Author(s):
Abstract:
According to Ayatollah JavadiAmoli, human attends to the Absolute Perfection and beauty. This is the way God has created the nature of human kind. Human nature (fetrat) is enthusiastic about luminous perfection, which is his most worthy existential capital, and no other creature have it. Human is, therefore, like a fountain that can water some streams. In accordance with the human existential merits, God has commanded the human to attend the guardian religion in its activities, in order to be guarded, and attend the orthodox religion, in order to stay in the straight path. Two points could be found in this command: (1) this attendance must be associated with knowledge; (2) the nation to be guarded must attend to the guardian religion. There is no conflict between human nature and the divine religion, rather they are of the same kind. The creativity of AllamehTabatabaʾi in Qurʾān-by-Qurʾān interpretation by the aid of Hadiths of the infalliblesshows itself in his explanation of these verses in which he sees no clashes between the clean and not-disturbed human nature and the orthodox religion, and that he believes that human’s first attestation is the inner voice of his nature. In this way, he could make a connection between the verses of zar (7:172) and fetrat (30:30), while other interpreters have failed to do so. In this study, in addition to making some points about the human nature (fetrat), it will be demonstrated that there is a marked similarity between Ayatollah Javadi’s thought and Allameh’s, and they doesn’t approve the views of other interpreters like FakhrRazi.
