The Study of Effectiveness of Group counseling based on cognitive-behavioral therapy, in increasing Anger management among female high school students

Abstract:
The present study was conducted aiming at investigating the efficacy Group counseling based on cognitive-behavioral therapy, in increasing Anger management in female high school student. This study is experimental with pretest-posttest design. The studied population was all the high school of first Region 19 of Tehran. The sample was selected through purposeful sampling and then they were randomly divided into two experimental and control groups (15 persons, each). The anger management Based on cognitive-behavioral therapy program including 8 sessions of 90 minutes ((one session in a week)) basis was delivered to the experimental group. The control group did notreceive any intervention. State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory-2 (STAXI-2) (Silberberg, 1999) was administered at the pretest and post-test stage to all participations. The obtained data we reanalyzed by covariance method (MNCOVA). Results showed Anger managementin subjects of experimental group significantly increased comparing with control group.
