Return to previous activities and quality of life in patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture surgery

Abstract The aim of this study is to asses and document the functional outcome and quality of life(QoL) inIntertrochanteric fractures which is one kind of three subtypes of hip fractures and need surgical treatment. These fractureshave a high mortality and can lead to discomfort and disability and andaffected quality of life of patients.On the base of this subject we planned this comprehensive study to asses the quality of life of these patients in Imam Khomeini hospital as the main center oforthopediain the South West of the Iran. 81 intertrochanteric fracture cases were enrolled in this study and their follow-up was conducted to evaluate the quality of life(QoL) on the base of questionnaire SF36. alsodemographic data and clinical information include surgical procedures and the time between fractures and surgical treatments(fracture interval to surgery) were assesed. Data were analyzed using SPSS V22 software. 81 patients with femoral intertrochanteric fracture were evaluated. Average quality of life for patients based on questionnaires was48.5 ± 17.7.
