The relationship between women's participation in the workforce and economic development in Islamic countries

Women as a form of human capital , almost are half of the population of any country's working age . High female participation in the labor force can be increased by increasing the supply of labor in fueling economic growth . Increase the share of women in the workforce is one of the key issues has become in developed and developing economies . The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between women's participation in paid labor and economic development in the Islamic countries . For this purpose, in this paper the data of the years 2013-1990 were used. Therefore, the validity of variables and determine the appropriate model of panel data is used to estimate the model. The results showed that the logarithm of GDP, unemployment rate and fertility rate have a negative impact and square log variables GDP, urbanization rate, gross enrollment rate of women in primary schools, secondary schools and female gross enrollment rate recorded rate Gross called a positive impact on the participation rate of women in higher education are women in the workforce Islamic countries. The results showed that the rate of female participation in the labor force and economic development in the Islamic countries is a nonlinear relationship and U-shaped.
