Comparing Lay Theories Regarding the Drug Addiction causes among Iranian and British People

Purpose, The comparison of lay theories regarding the drug addiction causes between Iranian and British people is the objective of the present research.
Method, this study has been conducted based on causal and comparative method. The population include 100 Iranian people from Isfahan and 100 British people from London. They were selected based on the convenient sampling, then samples were replicated. The research instruments include Furnham`s questionnaire of demographic features and thomsons questionnaire of lay theories regarding addiction in both Persian and English version.
Findings, There was a significant different Among 3 factors like familial, psychological, and biological reasons; In a way that in comparison with Iranian people, the average scores of British people in 3 mentioned factors were in higher level.
Results, the outcomes of the research have shown that a great difference exist among British and Iranian people regarding lay theorys in familial, psychological and biological factors.
