Demetaphorization of "Sky" in Persian Classic Poems

Abstract:
In Persian language and classic poems, there are many different ideas about "sky". While explaining these poems, often they are described as metaphors and metonymies. By considering mythological background of these metaphors, we can achieve that they are not figures of speech. Indeed they refer to Iranian and non-Iranian cultures which appear in modern poems and language. This article aims at searching the origin of "sky" in Iranian texts and Iranian and universal mythologies and investigating them in Persian poems. In order to achieve this purpose, our database is consisted of four Divans of Onsori, Manuchehri, Naser khosro and Masude saad . After studying the different application of the "sky" in the database and comparing them with mythological and historical ideas, it would be clear that all of them reveal ancient thoughts consciously or unconsciously.
