An investigation of introducing popular proverbs in oral culture of Shirazi dialect

In proverbs, there are countless phenomena, through which many ethnic characteristics of each community and extensive knowledge of anthropology and demography of those people can be gained. What is emphasized in this paper is the introduction of popular proverbs in oral culture of Shirazi dialect which have not been written anywhere and orally transmitted from generation to generation. Here, it is attempted to collect the specific proverbs of this dialect as much as possible as well as their Farsi concepts. Research Methodology is covered in two ways, case studies and library studies. In this way, based on the presence of the interview from old individuals of Shiraz of various famous sites in the city. The gathered proverbs consisted of 37 sayings of them all. The authors of the paper try to change them from oral to written ones. It can be said to be sure that knowledge of dialects identifies the hidden aspects of the Iranian culture and language, particularly those are in danger of decline.
