Abstract:The purpose of this study was to evaluate and compare existing and optimal state mechanisms for financing education and higher education. The rsearch method was descriptive survey and the participants in this study included 52 experts of Plan & Budget Organization and the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Science, Research and Technology that were selected by simple random sampling.The main tool To collect data,was a researcher-made questionnaire whose content validity and reliability (α>0.8) were confirmed. For analyzing the data of research descriptive and inferential statistical methods were used (T-test, paird T-test and Friedman test).Comparison of financing mechanisms in education revealed public education financing in both the current and the optimal state is of the greatest importance. The results about higher education indicated that in the current state, mechanism of public education financing is of the greatest importance, and in the optimal state, the mechanism of contract with manufacturing institutions and service industries is of the most importance.
