Developing a Model for Moral Motivation in Quran Based on Almizan

The purpose of this study was to investigate and explain a moral motivational system in Quran and to provide a model based on Almizan. The research method was descriptive-analytical one. It was utilized syllogistic deduction method to answer to the research questions. The results indicated that there are at least six motivation sources for morality in the derived model. As such the "natural inclinations" is the fundemental motivation for morality. The moral motivation changes from "social acceptability" to "otherworldly comfort" and then, "love of God". To move through each level, observation of appropriate models and being inspired by them ”, are considered as useful sources of motivation. As a result of persistence, each level of moral motivation and actions gradually begings to develop its own appropriate "piety character", which in turn can serve as a powerful and complementary source of motivation.
