Strategies to Improve Environmental Quality in the Renovation of Farahzad Deteriorated Area by Strategic - Hierarchical Analysis (SWOT-AHP)

Abstract:
Today, improving environmental quality is considered as one of the most important issues in urban development plans and even more important than that, in renovation of urban deteriorated areas projects. Considering the environmental quality to intervention in deteriorated areas leads to achieve a comprehensive approach to all dimensions of deterioration in these kind of urban fabric.
Therefore, this study tries to review the existing literature about the environmental quality and then extract key factors and analyze them in deteriorated areas of Farahzad. The aim of this study is to provide the main strategies to improve environmental quality in renovating deteriorated areas, including Farahzad community. In this study a descriptive - survey research method in the context of library researches has been used. Analysis of environmental quality criteria, achieved in this study, was conducted by using SWOT matrix and final data analysis was calculated by combining SWOT matrix and AHP method with the help of expert choice software. This study is a qualitative quantitative research and in terms of goal consider as an applied research. The results of this study indicate that among the SWOT factors, weaknesses have greatest impact on improving environment qualities and in the category of factors in the form of environmental quality components, functional component, has the first priority in improving environmental quality and experimental - aesthetic and environmental components are the next items.
