Categorizing Occidentalists in Contemporary Iran

Western ideas have penetrated Iran in different periods and with various faces, e.g. intellectual, cultural and civilization. Against multiple waves of penetration, different reactions can be pin pointed from Iranian thinkers ranging from traditional to religious ones. In this paper, different views about Iranian thinkers opposing western attitude are studied. In this article, different waves of western ideas penetrating Iran alongside analyses on schools of thoughts confronting the so-called waves is studied using historical method. Experts in this field are divided into two major groups: traditional and religious. It should be said that the main difference is in their maximum or minimum look to the religion. In this paper, main elements of the two groups and negative effects of each subdivision in Iran are studied. At last, it should be noted that western countries have built their lives based on their thoughts; so, it is highly recommended to pay enough attention in utilizing their achievements in order to avoid both superficiality and extremism.
