The role of belief in God in Individual Moral Refinement Based on Nahj al-Balagha

"Morality" and its refinement, is an important and attractive issue in Nahj al-Balagha. From the perspective of Nahj al-Balagha, moral refinement has principles and methods. Regarding the relationship between religion and morality, the issue of the knowledge and belief in God, is one of the principles of moral correction in Nahj al-Balagha, Especially with this approach that Beliefs and ethical issues should be objective rather than subjective. The present study has investigated, based on of documentary method, what is the role of belief in God in correction of morality and how it can be implemented in behaviors. Some results of this study show the role of belief in God in Self-purification objectively by providing examples of virtues such as sincerity, composure, justice, freedom, humility and also against its vices such as duplicity, unrest, injustice, abjection and arrogance, and prove this point that how belief in God to be effective in correction of individual morality.
