A Qualitative study on consequences of married women's employment and its moderators: School teaches in Delvar City

The literature review on women’s employment shows that the challenges associated with balancing works inside and outside the home have not been sufficiently investigated from a qualitative perspective. The present analysis attempts to contribute fulfilling this research gap. It is based on the method of in-depth and open-ended interviews with a sample of 19 school teachers in Delvar City. The research findings illustrate the general pattern that the combination of works insides and outside the home provides some opportunities for these working women and imposes some challenges on their life. These contradictory consequences are partly moderated through appropriate contexts, facilities and support provided by family and society. As a result, all of the female teachers included in this analysis have been able to cope with the disturbing challenges arising from the combination of women’s works insides and outside the home.
