The performance evaluation of Information value, density area, LNRF, frequency ratio methods for Landslide zonation at Poshtdarband region, Kermanshah

Message:
Abstract:
Landslides¡ due to their possibility of occurrence in various natural environments and the varieties of natural and artificial factors that affect them has special importance in natural hazards. Landslides due to the frequency of their occurrences every year are caused heavy losses that compensate some of them require abundant cost and time. Therefore¡ studying such phenomenon especially in developing areas is of paramount importance. The best method for studying landslides¡ which has long been of interest to researchers¡ is hazard zonation. In this method the due to the affecting factors in landslide occurrence¡ study area classifying to areas with low to very high risk. Such zonation could be of great help in regional planning. Different methods have been developed for this purpose. In this paper the four bivariate statistical methods namely information value¡ density area¡ LNRF¡ and frequency ratio are used to investigate the hazard zonation of Poshtdarband landslide in Kermanshah province. The results indicate that although there are minor differences¡ the frequency ratio method compared to the density area method that used for the study of landslide zonations¡ present better results.
