The investigation of the relationship between belief development and self-image and citizenly behavior: a gender comparison

Abstract:
Nowadays, inclination toward spirituality and morality of the students and hence the citizenly behavior is one of the great concerns of education experts. importantly, the aim of this study is the comparison of the relationship between belief development and self-image and citizenly behavior in the school students. The methodology of the research is a correlational-descriptive survey. The population (N=15824) of the study was all the female students in Ardabil Province, district 1. The sample consisted of 380 students, 190 males and 190 females who answered SCQ as well as citizenly questionnaire. Validity and reliability of the questionnaires were already proved in several studies. Data analysis was done through multiple variance analysis, and Pearson correlation. The findings revealed that there is meaningful relationship between self-image and citizenly behavior and belief development. On the other hand, these variables showed meaningful difference in genders. Reinforcement of the belief development of the students can fortify self-image and appropriate citizenly behavior of the students.
