Cultural s, economic, political and social strategy Influenced by the values and identity of the ruling elite. After dominating different institutions and organizations of Iran, the political elites of the Islamic wing called for a cultural revolution and the elimination of symbols of modernism and Westernism in society. This political wing was subdivided into various branches which were in sharp contrast with each other in terms of identity and idealization. These political elites were inclined to diverge from each other due to their contradictory interpretations of the key concepts of Islamic Revolution, government, politics, and religion. In this study, therefore, it is attempted to answer the following question: What was the effect of the governance of the political elites of contradictory identity factors (1979-2013) on Iranian society? The present study using a descriptive-analytic approach formulated this hypothesis: The governance of political elites (1979-2013) of diverse identity and idealization framework and taking policies based on contradictory identity factors have led to the division in Iranian society.
