The Goals of Tourism and Travel in Islamic Culture

Abstract:
These days, travel and tourism has a significant cultural and economic effect on various countries around the World. For this reason, different goals arises in tourism. Some Islamic practices like Hajj, Umrah (lesser hajj) or Pilgrimage has links to tourism. Also Jihad and Hegira (migration) are duties in Islamic culture requires traveling and tourism or Sele Rahem (visiting families) are sometimes linked to the tourism. Pleasure, fun, trade and gaining knowledge are goals recommended in Islamic tourism. So as tourism is an integral part of Islamic culture, it should be considered in policies and strategies within an Islamic government planning. It is obvious that the study of the goals of tourism, is a fundamental issue in the studies of tourism and traveling.
