Integrated Watershed Management of Euphrates and Tigris Basin in Iraq Order to Combat Desertification and dust phenomenon (Policies, Perspectives and Prognoses)

Abstract:
Iraq is a Middle East and northern African (MENA). This country is facing with crisis of water. This difficult is expected to be deterioration in future. Supply of water in Iraq is 43 Billion Cubic Meters (BCM) in 2015 and predicted 17 BCM in 2025.demand of water is evaluated 66/8 and 77 BCM. Tigris and Euphrates river discharges will continue to decrease with time¡ and they will be completely dry by 2040. Accurate and quick measures need to be taken to overcome this problem. The government should take measures to have a strategic water management vision¡ including regional cooperation and coordination¡ research and development¡ improving agriculture and sanitation sector as well as public awareness program. These measures are required in order to address the following issues: Strategic Water Management Vision¡ Regional cooperation and coordination¡ Irrigation and Agriculture¡ Water Supply and Sanitation¡ and Research and Development. Of since 10years ago¡ entranced dusts to Iran are originated of western countries involved: Iraq¡ Syria¡ Jordan¡ Saudi araba and Iran.
