The effect of management on diversity components at different scales in Dalab forest region

The aim of this study was to assess the effect of management on plant species diversity components (alpha¡ beta and gamma) in Dalab forest regions¡ west of Iran. To do this¡ two regions¡ managed and unmanaged were selected in Dalab forest region. Four sampling centers were randomly determined in protected and non- protected areas. Four main sampling plots (1000 m2) were determined as cluster around of each center and all trees and shrubs were measured and recorded. Two micro-plots (1 m2) were randomly determined in each main sample plot for herbaceous species sampling. The results showed there was a significant different between protected and non- protected regions in term of all species diversity component (alpha¡ beta and gama). All components were significantly higher in protected region than non- protected region.
