The Survey of The Relationship Between Regeneration Establishment of Persian Oak With Physiographic Factors and The Soil Properties in Zagros Forests (Case Study: Rewno Mount of ILAM)

Oak is the most important tree species in Zagros forests¡ that its natural regeneration have been impaired especially in recent years. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between establishment of Persian oak regeneration with environmental factors (physiographic and soil properties) on an area of 510 hectares in Renow mountains of Ilam province. Random sampling method was used for this purpose. That¡ after determine of regeneration location in relation of various factors of physiographic were implemented 80 plots of 10 × 10 square meters. Within each plot¡ the regeneration of oak in high and coppice forest and also physiographic and soil factors were taken. The results showed that there are significantly different between high forest and coppice regeneration with aspects and elevation. Oak high forest regeneration is more in north aspect and increased in high elevation. In addition¡ oak coppice regeneration has positive correlation with organic carbon¡ nitrogen¡ phosphorus and silt percent. Oak regeneration has more density in northwestern aspect and high elevation¡ but high forest regeneration has not significant correlation with any soil factors. Most regeneration was observed in the northwestern direction¡ moderate elevation and high slope (shoulder side of the road).
