A Review of the Factors Affecting Social Health in University Students

Abstract:
Social health is affected by social and cultural factors, and university students often encounter with several problems that may negatively influence their social health. Challenges during studying for university students are often associated with a variety of stresses and pressures that threaten their social health. Social health of university students is essential in order to prevent social pathologies. Social health promotion programs are associated with productivity, awareness, development human capital and social capital, and social skills in university students. According to findings from previous studies, social prosperity, social integration, social acceptance, social participation, and social cohesion are the most important components influence social health of students. Socio-economic factors, demographic factors, psychosocial factors, communication skills, religious affiliation, and social networks are the most important factors affecting the social health of students. As a result, social health of students is affected by several factors, and if the needs of students are considered, improvement of social health is obtained.
