Assessment of Iran's free zones In terms of tourist attractions and development of tourism infrastructure Case Study: Qeshm

Tourism in many countries is one of the most complex businesses. As a multifaceted activity¡ it has various functions and positive effects Such as making money¡ attracting Currencies¡ strengthening infrastructure and so on. Many countries have established free zones in order to achieve certain objectives such as national economic development¡ attracting foreign investments¡ generate employment¡ increasing incomes and regional development. Therefore¡ Development of tourism activities in the free zones is considered more than ever to creating diversity in foreign currency income and economic prosperity. . According to nature the research is functional and according to methods it is descriptive analysis. Results showed that in planning development of Iran''s free zones it is necessary to care the role of residential centers and hotels as infrastructure in attracting tourists. With increasing the number of tourists in recent years Qeshm Island has significant development in tangible infrastructure¡ including accommodation¡ catering and so on. However¡ there are some important factors that have been neglected such as increasing the durability of tourists on the island¡ local community’s advantage of coming tourist’s traffic and diversification of tourism products. In intangible infrastructures part it is necessary to emphasize three issues (education¡ security¡ hospitality). The growing trend of economic and social activities In Qeshm Free Zone has faced some problems such as Social Inequality and abnormalities. It is essential that the traditional thinking about administrating accommodations change from customer servicing to Customer orientation. Authorities should focus on island branding through participation in all major tourism events.
